AF Hassan Ariff, Interim Government's Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry Advisor, commented that there is a conspiracy from outside to destroy the harmony in the Chattogram hill districts including Rangamati.

He stated this to reporters after exchanging views with the leaders of various local political and ethnic groups, as well as security forces at Rangamati cantonment on Saturday (September 21) afternoon regarding the ongoing situation in Chattogram Hill Tracts.

Advisor Hassan Ariff said, "Everyone at the meeting expressed the desire for harmony, but we do not know where the disruptions are occurring. There is one phrase that everyone has uttered about disruption that is conspiracy. There is a conspiracy from outside to destroy our harmony."

He also added that a strong investigation committee is being formed to find out those behind the unrest in the hill tracks. Actions will be taken against those responsible.

Hassan Ariff further added, "When I came to Rangamati, the graffiti that I saw on the wall, the message of that graffiti is not only in Rangamati, not only in Bangladesh, but also in Chattogram Hill Tracts. There will be harmony. We will work together."

During the meeting, the Home Advisor, Lieutenant General (Rtd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that a high-level investigation team will be formed to investigate the incident of mountain violence. Those involved in this incident will be brought under strict punishment. No one will be exempted.

He further stated, "If anyone attempts to disrupt law and order again in the future, they will face severe consequences. Everyone must cooperate in improving the law and order situation."

The meeting was also attended by Supradip Chakma, a former ambassador and advisor to the Ministry of Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs, Mainul Islam, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammad Mainur Rahman, GOC Major General of Army's 33 Infantry Division, Tofail Islam, Divisional Commissioner Tofail Islam and related officials.

Among the locals, representatives of BNP, National Party, Jamaat-e-Islami, Islami Andolon, Hill Citizens Parishad, Transport Owner Workers, Civil Society Representatives presented their speeches and suggestions in the meeting.

Sajeev expressed shock over the sudden escalation, noting that fights involving sharp weapons and sticks are common in the camp, but the use of firearms was unexpected. He questioned how such weapons had made their way into the camp, highlighting the brazen nature of the attack.

The 'Shahidi March' of the anti-discrimination student movement is set to take place today. The movement's central leaders will hold the march on Thursday (September 5) to honor those who lost their lives to violence during various stages of the ongoing student protests, which began with demands for government job quota reform and escalated to calls for the government’s resignation. The event also marks one month since the fall of the Awami League government. "Starting tomorrow, Friday (September 6), we will take this march to divisional and district cities under the banner of the anti-discrimination movement," Alam added. "This is the moment to honor those who faced bullets for our cause. Tomorrow, students across the country will rise again." He urged the media to document these tragedies and emphasized that a victory march would only be possible once a new, just Bangladesh is realized. Abu Bakr Majumdar, another coordinator, reiterated that those responsible for the killings would not go unpunished. 3 hanging bodies of same family recovered in Cumilla

The police recovered the hanging bodies of 3 members of the same family at Homna in Cumilla. Their bodies were recovered around 10 am on Thursday (September 5).
