Actress Detained at Airport with Gold Worth Tk 6.9 Million

Gold weighing 733 grams, valued at approximately Tk 6.9 million was recovered from two passengers including an actress at Chattogram's Shah Amanat International Airport.
The two passengers were detained on Saturday (December 7) at around 9:50 am by the NSI Chattogram Airport team and customs intelligence officers.
The detained individuals are Anamika Juthi, a drama actress from Mirpur, Dhaka, and Mohammad Raihan Iqbal from Raozan, Chattogram. The information was confirmed by Shah Amanat International Airport's Public Relations Officer, Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil.
He stated that based on confidential information, a search was conducted, leading to the discovery of pure gold items resembling bracelets, chains, and white gold chains. The market value of the seized gold is Tk 6.896 million. Anamika Juthi had concealed the bracelets on her wrists using scotch tape and cleverly hid the chains around her neck. Additionally, the gold jewelry was carried in their handbags.
Airport sources reported that the two passengers arrived at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram at 9:35 am on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines BG-148 flight (Dubai-Chattogram-Dhaka) from Dubai. However, as they were passengers bound for Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, aviation regulations required their transfer to the airport team there via the same flight.

Several X users shared a clip from Filmfare Awards South in 2016 when Nayanthara won the Best Actress - Tamil award for her performance in her husband Vignesh Shivan's 2015 romantic action comedy Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. During her acceptance speech, Nayanthara made a surprising remark at Dhanush, which seemed to have been said and received in jest but, in retrospect, hints at the tension between the two stars, which may have snowballed into their feud this week.
"Thank you Dhanush for initiating NRD (Naanum Rowdy Dhaan), and I have to say I am sorry also. Dhanush absolutely hated my performance in Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Nayanthara's open letter to Dhanush
Nayanthara accused Dhanush of harboring “vengeance” against her, following his legal notice to her, objecting to the use of clips from a film he produced. In an open letter shared on social media on Saturday, Nayanthara took a dig at Dhanush for denying permission to use songs and visuals from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.
She questioned whether Dhanush’s decision stemmed from a “personal grudge” rather than business concerns, alleging that he demanded ₹10 crore for three-second clips shot on personal devices during the making of the decade-old film. Nayanthara described the move as an “all-time low” for Dhanush, whom she referred to as a former friend.
“Does a producer become an emperor controlling the lives, freedom, and liberty of everyone on the set? Any deviation from the emperor’s dictum attracts legal ramifications?” she wrote in her three-page statement. While confirming she would respond legally, Nayanthara highlighted the “moral side” of the issue, which she said “must be defended in the court of God.” “It has been almost 10 years since the Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’s release, but the vile behavior persists behind a mask,” she alleged.
The Netflix India documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, scheduled to stream on November 18, offers an insight into Nayanthara’s professional and personal life, including her marriage to filmmaker Vignesh Shivan.

Denmark's Victoria Kjaer Theilvig won the 73rd Miss Universe competition held in Mexico.
The 73rd edition of 'Miss Universe 2024' was held at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City. There, Denmark's Victoria Kier Theilvig won the Miss Universe crown after beating more than 120 contestants.
This is the first time a competitor from Denmark has won this title. She was crowned Miss Nicaragua, Shanice Palacios. This year, Belarus, Eritrea, Guinea, Macau, Maldives, Moldova, and Uzbekistan participated in the Miss Universe pageant for the first time.
The shortlist of 30 candidates was announced in the preliminary event on November 14.
