Ukhiya Clash Leaves 3 Dead Including Mosque Imam

A clash broke out in Kutupalong, Ukhiya of Cox's Bazar, over a land dispute. During the violent confrontation and counterattacks, three people from both sides were killed.

The incident took place on Sunday (April 6) afternoon in the Kutupalong area of Rajapalong Union.

The deceased have been identified as Maulana Abdullah Al Mamun, son of Nazir Hossain—a local mosque imam and Jamaat leader; Abdul Mannan (37), son of Mohammad Hossain from the opposing side; and his sister Shahina Begum (40).

Local Union Parishad member Engineer Helal Uddin confirmed the incident.

According to local sources, the clash began suddenly in the morning when both sides attacked each other with traditional weapons. Maulana Mamun and the other two were killed on the spot.

Ukhiya Police Station Officer-in-Charge Arif Hossain confirmed the incident, stating that the bodies have been recovered and necessary steps are being taken.
