A powerful bomb explosion has completely destroyed a residential house in the Jajira upazila of Shariatpur, leaving one young man dead.

The victim, identified as Sohan, was reportedly inside the structure at the time of the blast.

The incident occurred around 4:00 AM on Thursday (January 8) in Mulai Bepari Kandi village, located within the Bilaspur Union.

According to witnesses and police reports, the explosion was so intense that the walls and roof of the house were blown away.

Investigators discovered chemical substances and various bomb-making materials scattered across the scene.

Saleh Ahmed, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jajira Police Station, confirmed the details of the tragedy. He noted that tensions had been simmering in the area for several days, prompting police to maintain strict surveillance.

• Discovery: Local residents rushed to the scene after hearing a deafening blast at dawn, only to find the house in ruins. Sohan's body was discovered a short distance from the wreckage.
