Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman stepped forward to provide emergency relief and financial assistance to families devastated by a recent fire at the Bhashantek slum in the capital.

The blaze, which broke out late Thursday night due to an electrical short circuit, completely destroyed at least five homes, leaving several families in a state of severe distress after losing their belongings and shelters.

In an immediate response to the incident, a high-level delegation acting on behalf of the BNP Chairman visited the site to deliver a message of sympathy and support.

The team included Chairman's Adviser Professor Dr. Farhad Halim Donar, Engineer Abdur Rahman Sunny and Moksedul Momin Mithun, the Member Secretary of 'Amra BNP Paribar'.

During the visit, the leaders assessed the extent of the damage and interacted with the victims to understand their immediate needs.

On behalf of Tarique Rahman, the delegation distributed financial aid and made a firm commitment to fund the rebuilding of the homes destroyed by the fire.

The relief effort was also supported by members of 'Amra BNP Paribar', medical professionals from the Ziaur Rahman Foundation and local BNP grassroots leaders, who remained on the ground to coordinate further assistance for the displaced residents.
