A cocktail (crude bomb) attack occurred at a polling center in Gopalganj Sadar Upazila during the ongoing voting process, leaving three people injured, including two Ansar members.

The incident took place at approximately 9:30 AM at the Reshma International School polling station.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Jahidul Islam, who was on duty at the center, reported that voting had been proceeding peacefully since the morning.

However, miscreants launched the cocktail at the center from across a canal located outside the premises.

The resulting explosion injured two Ansar members on duty and a child who had accompanied a voter. The loud blast triggered immediate panic among those present at the station.

The injured have been identified as:

• Sukanta Majumdar (Ansar member)
• Jamal Hossain (Ansar member)
• Amena Khanam (14) (Daughter of Ashraaf Ali from the Arambagh area)

All three received primary medical treatment at a local clinic.
