As Eid-ul-Adha approaches, cattle markets and farms are once again witnessing a flurry of uniquely named livestock. This year, the center of attention at a farm in Narayanganj is a distinctive buffalo aptly named "Donald Trump."

The buffalo, weighing over 700 kg, is being reared at Rabeya Agro Farm in the Paikpara area of the city. Ziauddin Mridha, the farm's proprietor, explained that the animal belongs to the Albino breed. Its white coat with a pinkish hue and a stylish tuft of hair on its forehead led to the playful moniker "Donald Trump."

According to farm sources, the name has sparked significant curiosity on social media and among locals, drawing large crowds to the farm. While many buyers expressed interest in purchasing the buffalo, it has already been booked by an individual. This has left several other prospective buyers disappointed at missing the chance to purchase "Donald Trump."

Farm staff noted that the buffalo follows a standard diet of grass, corn, and bran, and has been raised with special care.

In Bangladesh, it has become a popular tradition ahead of Eid-ul-Adha to give catchy or famous names to large and attractive sacrificial animals. Every year, names like "Raja," "Sultan," "Bahubali," or those of prominent global figures are used to generate extra interest among buyers and visitors.
