Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has departed for Feni on his first official visit to the district since assuming office.
The motorcade carrying the Prime Minister and his entourage set out from his Gulshan residence in the capital at around 9:15 AM on Thursday (October 1).
During his day-long tour, he is scheduled to participate in multiple events across the Parshuram and Fulgazi upazilas.
This visit has brought renewed focus to regional development aspirations, with extensive preparations underway to welcome the Prime Minister.
A four-tier security arrangement has been enforced along the Cumilla section of the Dhaka-Chattogram highway, where 1,250 law enforcement personnel have been deployed.
From the inauguration of the Muhuri river project rehabilitation work to rooftop solar initiatives, farmer support, and family-based welfare programs, local administration preparations are fully in place.
Itinerary Highlights:
8:30 AM: The Prime Minister departed his residence by road toward Parshuram. (Note: Actual departure occurred at approximately 9:15 AM)
12:30 PM: Scheduled arrival at the Ghātghar Muhuri Bridge area in Parshuram to inaugurate the "Muhuri-Kuhua Flood Control, Drainage, and Irrigation Project Rehabilitation (1st Phase)" and exchange greetings.
1:15 PM: Travel from Parshuram to Begum Khaleda Zia Women's College in Fulgazi.
1:30 PM: Arrival at the college campus to participate in a tree-plantation program.
2:00 PM: Scheduled visit to the Fulgazi District Council (Zila Parishad) Dakbungalow, where he will inaugurate the supply of electricity generated from rooftop solar panels to the national grid (covering government office rooftops across three Feni upazilas).
3:00 PM: Attendance at a public event at the Fulgazi Government Pilot High School ground. He is scheduled to distribute "Family Cards," "Farmer Cards," and honorarium allowances for imams, muezzins, khadims, and other religious worship place personnel.
5:00 PM: Departure from Feni by road for Dhaka following the conclusion of day-long engagements.
9:00 PM: Expected return arrival in Dhaka.
