Chief of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC) and DMP Additional Commissioner Monirul Islam said, those who are being detained or arrested were involved in militancy previously at any cost.
After being radicalized some were involved in militancy. The recruiters and motivators are offering attractive packages on internet.
He said these at a program titled Dhaka Peace Talk at Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media center on Saturday.
Monirul Islam said, those who are mentally weak and have no patriotism, have no responsibility, have no idealism, those who cannot accept the reality and look for shortcut way- are being involved in militancy.
In response to a question he said, after the Holey Artisan attack activities against militancy have increased. We have to work for creating antibody against militancy. We are trying always to keep the militant activities under intelligence surveillance. Many have been arrested. While interrogation they admitted that they were involved in militant activities previously. But we can ensure that rise of militancy will not be allowed at any cost.
