
The country's foreign exchange reserves have registered a further increase, climbing to $36,103.89 million ($36.10 billion), according to the central bank.
Arif Hossain Khan, Executive Director and Spokesperson of Bangladesh Bank, confirmed the development on Wednesday (June 24).
According to the latest data from the central bank, the country's gross reserves stood at $36,103.89 million as of June 24. Meanwhile, under the Balance of Payments Manual 6 (BPM6) method formulated by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the reserves stood at $31,552.67 million.
Prior to this, until June 23, the country's gross reserves were recorded at $35,798.11 million, while the reserves under the BPM6 method stood at $31,244.22 million.
Net reserves are calculated in accordance with the IMF's BPM6 metrics. The net or actual reserves are determined by deducting short-term liabilities from the gross reserves.
