The strong inflow of expatriate income into the country has continued since the beginning of the current 2026-27 fiscal year.

From July 1 to September 13, the country received 7.253 billion US dollars in remittances, which is 16.9 percent higher compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.

According to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank, expatriate income amounting to 6.206 billion dollars had arrived in the country during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

During the first 13 days of the current month of September, expatriates sent 1.427 billion dollars to the country.

In the same period last year, the figure was 1.306 billion dollars, representing a 9.3 percent increase in remittances during this timeframe.

On September 13 alone, expatriate Bangladeshis sent 193 million dollars to the country through legal banking channels.

This consistent growth in the inflow of expatriate income is expected to help further strengthen the country's foreign exchange position and maintain external sector stability.

In particular, the government's ongoing initiatives to encourage sending remittances through legal channels are playing a positive role in this regard.
