Yemeni armed Houthi movement launched missile and drone attacks on three Saudi cities, including Taif.
The attacks on Monday (September 14) in Taif, Khamis Mushait, and Abha injured 13 civilians and damaged several homes and vehicles.
According to the Anadolu Agency, the Saudi-led coalition disclosed information regarding the Houthi missile and drone strikes early Tuesday (September 15).
Coalition Spokesperson Turki al-Maliki stated that the attacks targeted the cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif on Monday, resulting in 13 injuries.
He noted that the injuries were minor to moderate, with some victims sustaining medium-level trauma.
Al-Maliki added that the strikes damaged seven homes and two vehicles, accusing the Houthis of intentionally targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.
He stated that, in accordance with the right to self-defense, the coalition will take necessary measures to prevent such attacks in the future.
Earlier on Monday, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree claimed that Saudi warplanes carried out 54 airstrikes across five Yemeni provinces over the previous 24 hours.
Saree stated that F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets were used in these raids, warning that these attacks "will be met with a response."
Earlier on Monday, the Houthis also claimed to have launched a major missile and drone assault on the King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait, while threatening to expand their military operations against Saudi Arabia.
Following years of relative calm, clashes between Yemen's internationally recognized government forces and the Houthis have escalated again since early July.
The war in Yemen has been ongoing since 2014, when the Houthis seized the capital, Sanaa, and several provinces.
The conflict intensified further in 2015 when a Saudi-led Arab coalition intervened in Yemen to support the internationally recognized government.
