Satellite television has brought the world in people’s home. It has enriched life by providing information. Rtv is one of the best among the top popular satellite channels in Bangladesh.
There are news, entertainment programs, dramas, public awareness reports, current public related important discussions in the channel’s regular broadcasting. Apart from this there are some excellent attainment in the year 2017.
At the beginning of the year Rtv presented a star shining evening to the spectators. The channel organized ‘Lux-Rtv Star Award’ to recognize the achievers in the cultural arena.
Rtv is also aware of its own social responsibility. So it observed ‘World Autism Awareness Day’ on April 2 among its different programs. This channel is always vocal on the matter of women empowerment. From this mentality it organized the program ‘Alokito Nari’.
In association with the program for senior citizens it also organized ‘Dabur Vatika Campus Star’ competition to hunt for new and young talents.
The popularity of Rtv proved in the middle of the year with the fulfillment of one crore like by its fans and supporters on its face book page. On that day Rtv was on 132nd position in the ‘Media Category’ of the face book pages throughout the world.
To reach the culture of Bangla into the world different season based programs like Boishakhi, Basanta or Nabanna festivals were organized throughout the year.
Rtv is always in front stage for humanitarian services. With this continuation the channel stood beside the flood affected people with relief items. Steps were also taken for the evicted Rohingya people to express sympathy.
Rtv is the equal vocal on the national significant days. So it organized different programs to observe the National Mourning Day on August 15 with due respect and dignity.
In this year Rtv joined as global partner with some internationally reputed media. This attainment enriched in August with winning the ‘Social Media Campaign of the Year’ reward. On the next month Chief Executive Officer of Rtv was awarded ‘Global Brand Excellence Award’ as ‘Best CEO of the Year’.
To provide more entertainment to the spectators Rtv was associated with production of two films named ‘Shoshurbari Zindabad 2’ and ‘Jodi Ekdin’.
Spectators and fans are expecting that with the continuation of these achievements Rtv will offer better programs in the new year.

Goodbye Tarzan: Ron Ely Dies at 86
Ron Ely, the American actor best known for his role as 'Tarzan' in the 1960s TV series, passed away on September 29 at the age of 86. The series, which aired on NBC from 1966 to 1968, saw Ely performing his own stunts, during which he suffered multiple injuries and was reportedly attacked by animals on set.
Following his retirement from acting in 2001, Ely pursued a writing career, publishing two mystery novels. He briefly returned to acting in 2014, playing an Amish elder in the TV movie Expecting Amish. During the 1980s, Ely also appeared in popular shows such as The Love Boat and Wonder Woman alongside Lynda Carter.
Born in Texas in 1938, Ely married his high school sweetheart in 1959, but the couple divorced two years later. He later met his second wife, Valerie Lundeen, while hosting the Miss America pageant in the early 1980s. Together, they had three children.
Tragedy struck in 2019 when Lundeen was fatally stabbed by their son, Cameron, at their California home. Police shot Cameron dead, claiming self-defense after assessing him as a threat. Ely later filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the officers, though the court ruled in favor of the police.
Ely passed away at his home in Los Alamos, Santa Barbara, on September 29. Announcing his death on Instagram, his daughter described him as a hero, adding: "He was an actor, writer, coach, mentor, family man, and leader... To me, he hung the moon."
Atif Aslam Concert / Venue Approval Pending, Tickets Sell Out
Bangladeshi fans eagerly awaiting Atif Aslam's November 29 concert in Dhaka
Pakistani musician Atif Aslam performed at Bashundhara Sports Complex in the capital in April this year. He is coming to Dhaka to hit the stage once again.
Atif Aslam will participate in the 'Magical Night 2.0' concert organized at the Bangladesh Army Stadium on November 29.
The concert has been left in limbo—not only due to pending venue approval but also because of a massive data breach that has exposed the personal information of over 5,000 ticket-holders.
'Triple Time Communications' organization has informed this on their Facebook page.
On the other hand, an officer in charge of the Army Stadium confirmed to the media that permission was not received and said that the organizing authority of the event had appealed to us. After the application, the official work is going on. They have not been permitted to the Army Stadium yet.
Apart from Atif, another Pakistani young artist Abdul Hannan, Bangladeshi Tahsan Khan, and the band Kaktal are scheduled to perform in the 'Magical Night 2.0' concert.
However, if everything goes well, the concert will start on November 29 at five o'clock in the afternoon at the Bangladesh Army Stadium. The gates will be open for visitors from 1 pm.
Meghna Accused of Sexual Harassment Against Rajpal Yadav

Tahsan to Host Bangladeshi Version of Family Feud

The popular American family reality show 'Family Feud' is making its way to Bangladesh. And celebrated Bangladeshi singer-actor Tahsan Khan is set to take on a new role as the host of this show.
Bongo has announced that Tahsan has been chosen as the presenter to make the Bangladesh edition of 'Family Feud' even more entertaining.
It is known that contestants can win a maximum of Tk1,00,000 per episode. The shooting of 'Family Feud' will begin on December 8.
40 families have been selected through auditions from around 2,000 applicant families across the country. Some of the questions asked to 100 people on specific topics will be presented in front of the family members.
Contestants have to guess the answer given by the maximum number of people. Contestants will get points based on correct guesses. The family with the highest points will be declared the winner.
The first team to score 300 points gets a chance to play the bonus round 'Fast Money'.
"I'm excited to be part of the first season of such an amazing show like Family Feud being produced by Bongo in Bangladesh," said Tahsan.
He added, "I hope we can deliver a successful event where all viewers can participate and experience family entertainment in a new way."
Bongo COO Fayaz Taher said, "We are very happy to bring 'Family Feud' to Bangladesh. The game show has been entertaining families around the world. Hopefully, the audience will enjoy the fun and excitement of the game in addition to getting the same popularity as Bangladesh."
Incidentally, the episodes of 'Family Feud' will be available on the Bongo website and app at the beginning of next year.

Aniqa Alam to Represent Bangladesh in Miss Universe
International makeup artist Aniqa Alam will represent Bangladesh in this year's Miss Universe. After a gap of three years, she will represent Bangladesh in this event. But Anika has been finalized through selection and not competition.

Incidentally, Aniqa completed her studies in Political Science at Loyola Marymind University. After completing her degree, she also worked in the Los Angeles Mayor's office. Currently, she is working intensively with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, especially 'Zero Hunger'.
