Cumilla police arrested TikToker Abdullah Al Mamun also known as Prince Mamun in Laila Akhtar Farhad rape case. The Cantonment police station of the capital has already applied to take him on seven-day remand.
The remand hearing is scheduled to be held at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court of Dhaka on Tuesday (June 11) at noon. Earlier on the night of June 10, police arrested him from the Daudkandi toll plaza area of the Dhaka-Chattogram highway and brought him to Dhaka.
In a media of the country, the officer in charge of Daudkandi Police Station Md. Mozammel Haque said, 'A rape complaint was filed against Tiktoker Mamun at the Dhaka Cantonment Police Station. Later informed that Mamun was staying in Cumilla, Dhaka Cantonment Police sent us a requisition to arrest him.'
He further said that the police arrested him at around 9:30 pm after conducting raids in Daudkandi toll plaza area. Later, a team of Dhaka Cantonment police station led by the investigating officer of the case actually handed over Mamun to them around 12:30 pm.
Tiktoker Laila filed a rape case against Prince Mamun at the Cantonment Police Station of the capital on June 9. In the complaint, she mentioned that 'I met the defendant Prince Mamun through the social media Facebook three years ago.
At one stage of acquaintance, Mamun established a love relationship with me by tempting to marry me. He told me that he doesn't have his own house in Dhaka. As the love affair developed and Mamun told me that he would marry me, I believed him and allowed him to stay in my house.
On January 7, 2022, Mamun came to live in my house along with his mother. From that day he started staying in the same room with me in my house. Enticed me into marriage and had physical relations with me against my will multiple times on different dates and times. When I told Mamun about marriage, he avoided it with various excuses.
Last on March 14 this year, Mamun raped me again by tempting me to get married like before. Later, when I told him about marriage, he got angry with me. Abusing me in various obscene language.'
