'Aaj Robibar' drama director Monir Hossain Jibon passes away
Monir Hossain Jibon, the creator of the serial drama 'Aaj Robibar' by famous Literati Humayun Ahmed passed away.
He breathed his last at the National Institute of Neurosciences Hospital at Agargaon in the capital on Wednesday (June 26). This was confirmed by actor Sony Rahman.
He told the media that Monir Hossain Jibon suddenly had a brain stroke at night. Later he was quickly admitted to the National Institute of Neurosciences Hospital. But the doctors on duty could not save him despite their last efforts.
Sony Rahman also said, his body will be kept at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy from 10 am to 11 am on Thursday (June 27) for public respect. Later, after the first janaza there, his body will be taken to his village home Manohordi in Narsingdi district. He will be buried in the family graveyard after the second funeral after Baad Asr.
Monir Hossain met Humayun Ahmed in 1993. Before that, he worked as an assistant director in movies. He was a hired assistant director in Humayun Ahmed's movie 'Aguner Parashmoni'. Later, he worked as the first lead assistant director in the drama 'Nokkhotrer Raat'. Monir Hossain Jibon made his debut as a director in the TV media with the drama 'Aaj Robibar'. After that he produced many plays.
Since 2000, Monir Hossain Jibon formed his own production company 'Shadhin Cholochitro'. He produced numerous solo dramas from his production company. Among them, Shada Kagoj, Bonnyar Chokhe Jol, Oprottyashito prottyasha, 'Otopor Nissongota, Ekjon Moyna, Gunman, Bibaho Songkot, Korban Alir Qurban' are notable.
But he is most famous for Aaj Robibar (1996), Ahom (2007) and Somudro Bilash Private Limited (1999).
Apart from this, he has produced telefilms, serial dramas, documentaries, short films and commercials.
