Ustad Mihir Lala Saha passes away
Ustad Mihir Lala Saha, vocalist and classical musician of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, has passed away. He died today (August 17) at his home. He was 84 at the time of his death.
The news of Mihir Lala's death was confirmed by his wife Nazrul Sangeet singer Jayanti Lala in a media of the country.
It is known that Mihir Lala was under treatment in a private hospital in Chattogram for 17 consecutive days. Although he is not fully recovered, he was taken home on the advice of the doctor on August 8.
Mihir Lala was born in Cox's Bazar in 1941. However, he grew up in Popadia village, Kanungopara, Boalkhali, Chattogram. His father is lawyer Chandra Binod Lala and mother Kuldabala Lala. Mihir Lala was the third among eight siblings.
He was also involved in the great independence war of Bangladesh as a vocal soldier of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra. In 2018, he was awarded the National Art Academy Medal.
