Pantha Kanai said about the song, 'Poet Nazrul wrote this song as a protest and warning against the riots that took place in Calcutta from May 2 to May 18, 1926 under the title 'Kandari Hushiyar'. It was featured in his 'Sarbahara' poetry book. Even after all these years, many chose the song as a language of protest. It feels good to sing such a song in a new arrangement.
