The Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to embark upon a new adventure, starting Saturday, March 22 when the 18th edition of the T20 league begins at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The opening match will feature the defending champions taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore on home ground. Before the game, the grand opening ceremony will take place, with several Bollywood stars, including Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, gracing the event.
Shah Rukh Khan will be attending to support his team, Kolkata Knight Riders, while Salman Khan will be there to promote his film Sikandar. This promises to be a memorable evening.
Other stars who will be attending include Priyanka Chopra, Vicky Kaushal, Shraddha Kapoor, and Sanjay Dutt. Additionally, Katrina Kaif, Ananya Panday, Madhuri Dixit, Janhvi Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Pooja Hegde, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Sara Ali Khan are expected to be present.
The ceremony will also feature performances by Arijit Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, Karan Aujla, Disha Patani, Shraddha Kapoor, and Varun Dhawan. The band OneRepublic will also take the stage alongside Karan Aujla and Disha Patani. Numerous top athletes will also be in attendance for this spectacular event.
This season's IPL will see ten teams competing: Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Sunrisers Hyderabad. A total of 74 matches will be played across 13 venues.
