Dhaka film actress Apu Biswas and the entire crew of her new film Shikar narrowly escaped disaster after getting caught in the severe flash floods and landslides in Nepal, which have left nearly 600 dead and around 2,000 missing.

With production suspended due to the worsening crisis, the team returned to Dhaka on Friday (August 28), where Apu Biswas shared her terrifying experience with the media.

The actress revealed that a catastrophic natural disaster struck a hilly area two to three hours away from Kathmandu on August 26.

Coincidentally, the Shikar unit had scheduled their travel along that exact route toward Kathmandu the following day, August 27, allowing them to dodge a major catastrophe by a single day.

Recalling those tense moments, Apu Biswas noted that the disaster occurred very close to the route they were scheduled to take back to Kathmandu.

By the grace of Almighty Allah, she said, shifting their travel plans by a day saved them from grave danger. She added that traffic on that road has been suspended for the next 15 to 20 days due to the destruction.

Describing it as inhumane to continue filming under such dire circumstances, Apu stated that she consulted with the entire unit to suspend the shooting of songs. The cast and crew subsequently made their way back to Bangladesh safely.

Apu Biswas and her team had been shooting for Shikar in Nepal for quite some time prior to the incident. The film also stars Kolkata actor Kharaj Mukherjee alongside her.

Fans had grown deeply concerned for the safety of the film's cast and crew following news of the fatalities and devastation in Nepal.

Kharaj Mukherjee had earlier informed fans of his safety upon arriving at the Kolkata airport on Thursday, with Apu Biswas returning to Dhaka just hours later.
