
Veteran Indian actor and filmmaker Nana Patekar has passed away at the age of 75. He died at his residence in Goa.
Citing hospital sources, the Indian news outlet NDTV reported that he was found unconscious at his Goa home on Thursday morning, October 8.
He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors attempted to revive him for approximately 45 minutes.
Having failed to respond to treatment, he was pronounced dead at 5:20 AM.
Born Vishwanath Patekar on January 1, 1951, in Murud-Janjira, Maharashtra, Patekar built a prolific career spanning numerous critically acclaimed roles in Hindi and Marathi cinema.
Alongside his acting career, he also worked as a director and writer.
His memorable performances in films such as Parinda, Krantiveer, Ab Tak Chhappan, and Natsamrat won widespread acclaim from audiences.
He earned multiple National Film Awards and FilmFare Awards for his contributions to cinema.
Even in 2026, he appeared in films like O Romeo and Subedar. The veteran actor's passing has cast a pall of grief over the Indian film fraternity.
