A court in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, has issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Bollywood drama queen Rakhi Sawant in connection with an old death case dating back to 2010.
This legal action has been taken against her over a controversial incident from 16 years ago.
The incident dates back to 2010.
A young man named Lakshman, a resident of the Premnagar area in Jhansi, participated in a popular television reality show hosted by Rakhi Sawant due to a family dispute with his wife.
According to the allegations, Rakhi made extremely derogatory and offensive remarks against Lakshman right on the show's stage.
Following the broadcast of the episode, the young man suffered severe mental depression and social harassment.
Completely broken mentally, Lakshman passed away that same year.
Following his death, the young man's mother filed a case of abetment to suicide against four individuals, including Rakhi.
Later, charges of criminal conspiracy and intentional insult were also added to the case alongside abetment to suicide.
Following a lengthy legal process and the submission of a chargesheet, the court has finally issued the warrant.
Mridulkant Srivastava, the district government counsel in Jhansi, stated that as part of the next legal proceedings in the case, Rakhi Sawant will soon have to appear in court and apply for bail.
Due to this tragic incident from 16 years ago, the threat of arrest now looms over the actress.
