Uncertainty briefly surrounded Indian singer Diljit Dosanjh's upcoming concert in Delhi following rumors that it had been denied permission due to security concerns.
However, ticketing platform BookMyShow clarified last Thursday that the concert has not been canceled.
The Punjabi singer is set to perform as scheduled on October 30 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium as part of his "Dil-Luminati India Tour" (Aura India Tour).
Nevertheless, police and organizers are making massive preparations to significantly beef up security for the event.
According to an Indian media report, authorities have directed organizers to deploy additional private security personnel, keeping in mind the massive expected turnout.
Organizers have also been instructed to keep more entry and exit gates open at the stadium.
While initial plans involved deploying 400 private security guards, reviewing authorities now estimate that 1,500 to 2,000 security personnel will be required. Police and organizers will work in tandem to manage the massive crowd.
Traffic control is also a major consideration. Vehicle restrictions may be imposed within a 500- to 700-meter radius around the stadium, with plans to permit only artists' vehicles in specific designated zones.
Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium has a seating capacity of approximately 55,000. In anticipation of the huge gathering, authorities are preparing well in advance.
Meanwhile, organizers are reportedly planning to extend the performance ramp so Diljit can get closer to the audience.
However, this is still under discussion, and a final decision will be made only after reviewing security aspects and securing the necessary approvals.
Amid the earlier uncertainty surrounding the event, Diljit reassured fans, posting, "See you in Delhi on the 30th."
