
Dengue surges have claimed at least five lives alongside 1,484 newly recorded hospitalizations nationwide over the past 24 hours, health authorities announced on Thursday.
According to a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) release, regional intake distribution for the 1,484 daily cases comprises 211 in Barishal division, 192 in Chattogram division, 190 in Dhaka division, 227 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 207 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 252 in Khulna division, 64 in Mymensingh division, 102 in Rajshahi division, 35 in Rangpur division, and 4 in Sylhet division.
Cumulative national figures for current-year vectors stand at 176 fatalities and 58,400 total infections.
Comparative historical mortality and morbidity tracking show 413 deaths from 1,02,861 infections last year, preceded by 575 deaths from 1,01,214 infections in 2024.
