Three more children died with measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours until 8 am on Friday, taking the national combined tally of confirmed and suspected measles-related fatalities to 1,084 this year.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) classified all three latest deaths as suspected measles fatalities.

With these new casualties, the total number of suspected measles deaths reached 983, while laboratory-confirmed deaths remained unchanged at 101.

A total of 1,201 new suspected measles cases were reported during the same 24-hour window, pushing the cumulative nationwide count of suspected cases to 185,833.

Meanwhile, 64 new confirmed measles infections were recorded, elevating the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 21,015.

According to DGHS data, a total of 164,248 patients exhibiting suspected measles symptoms have been admitted to hospitals across the country since March 15 this year, with 157,807 of them making full recoveries.
