Three more children died of suspected measles across the country during the past 24 hours, bringing the total tally of deaths from confirmed and suspected measles to 1,087 since March 15.

According to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday, 980 suspected measles cases were registered over the past 24 hours, taking the cumulative number of suspected cases to 186,813 since March 15.

Meanwhile, 84 confirmed measles infections were reported during the same 24-hour window, pushing the overall count of confirmed cases to 21,099 since March 15.

Between March 15 and September 26, a total of 165,155 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals while 158,576 individuals recovered and were discharged from health facilities throughout this timeframe.

The three additional fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours were all attributed to suspected measles, raising the total mortality figure from suspected measles to 986 since March 15.

No deaths from confirmed measles were recorded during the past 24 hours, leaving the total number of confirmed measles deaths at 101 since March 15.
