Dengue Claims 10 More Lives, 1966 Hospitalized in 24 Hours across Bangladesh

Health officials reported 1,966 new dengue cases along with 10 fatalities recorded over the past 24 hours.

According to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), out of the 1,966 newly hospitalized patients, 203 were admitted in the Barishal division, 242 in the Chattogram division, 480 in the Dhaka division, 187 within the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) area, 194 within the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) area, 302 in the Khulna division, 96 in the Mymensingh division, 199 in the Rajshahi division, 75 in the Rangpur division, and 18 in the Sylhet division.

Since the beginning of the dengue outbreak this year, Bangladesh has recorded 281 total deaths, with overall hospitalizations reaching 90,356.

In comparison, the disease claimed 413 lives and affected 102,861 individuals across the country last year, while in 2024, dengue resulted in 575 fatalities and infected 101,214 people nationwide.
