Counting of votes for India's 18th Lok Sabha elections is underway. The counting of votes began at 8:30 am on Tuesday (June 4) after one and a half months of voting in seven phases.

According to the National Election Commission of India, Mamata Banerjee's party Trinamool Congress is leading in 33 seats out of 42 seats in West Bengal so far.

In West Bengal, Modi's BJP is leading in only nine of the 42 seats, half of the 18 seats it had won last time.

However, no results have been announced yet. However, after the completion of one-third counting, Trinamool Congress supporters have already started celebrating victory in different parts of Kolkata. Even if they do not come out on the streets, they are expressing their excitement by chanting slogans in the districts of the state.
