Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened to launch retaliatory attacks on Ukrainian ports and vessels after Moscow's flag-carrying tankers were targeted. He also threatened to cut off Ukraine's access to the sea entirely.

Russia will respond in the following ways, he warned:
Putin then issued a threat to sever Ukraine from the sea if these actions are not stopped, stating, "The most significant option is to completely cut off Ukraine from the sea. Then it will no longer be possible to commit acts of piracy."

Earlier, an official from Ukraine’s intelligence agency reported that at least three Russian tankers had been attacked over the past two days. These vessels were reportedly damaged using naval drones.
