At Least 12 Medical Workers Killed in Israeli Strikes on Lebanon

At least 12 medical workers have been killed following Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon. The report, confirmed by Lebanese health authorities on Saturday and cited by the French news agency AFP, marks a significant loss for the region’s emergency response teams.

According to health officials, the strike targeted a health center in the town of Burj Qalaouiyah, resulting in the deaths of 12 individuals, including doctors, paramedics, and nurses.

In a separate incident in the town of Sawaneh, two additional paramedics affiliated with Hezbollah and its ally, the Amal Movement, were reported killed.

In a concurrent development shifting focus toward the Persian Gulf, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States has bombed military installations on Kharg Island, located near the Strait of Hormuz off the coast of Iran.

Posting on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump asserted that U.S. Central Command executed "one of the most powerful airstrikes in the history of the Middle East."
