The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced a critical update regarding the upcoming Hajj season, mandating that only specific "Hajj Visas" will be recognized for performing the sacred pilgrimage.

This regulation applies to all pilgrims arriving from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In a statement released on Sunday (April 12), the Ministry emphasized that the Hajj Visa is the only legally authorized means for international visitors to participate in the rituals.

Key Policy Details
According to a report by the Saudi Gazette, the Ministry has explicitly barred holders of the following visas from participating in Hajj:

  • Visit Visas
  • Transit Visas
  • Umrah Visas
  • Tourist Visas

The Ministry clarified that individuals holding these visas will not be permitted to enter the holy sites or engage in the formal Hajj proceedings.

Regulations for Residents
While international pilgrims must secure the designated Hajj Visa, the rules differ slightly for those already residing within Saudi Arabia:

Citizens and Residents (Expatriates): Must complete their booking process through the "Nusuk" application.

Permit Requirement: Following a successful booking, residents must obtain an official Hajj permit to participate.

The Saudi government reiterated that these measures are in place to ensure the safety and organized management of the millions of pilgrims expected to arrive for the annual pilgrimage.
