An Iranian-flagged cargo vessel has successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz, appearing to defy sanctions imposed by the United States.

According to the Iranian semi-official Tasnim News Agency, the vessel, identified as the 'Shuja 2', is continuing its journey despite Washington’s restrictive measures.

Tasnim reported that the ship departed from the Shahid Rajaee Port near Bandar Abbas, Iran. Its current course is set toward the Port of Kandla in India.

Satellite Data Confirms Position
While Al Jazeera noted it could not independently verify the claims made by the Iranian state-affiliated media, tracking data from MarineTraffic—a prominent maritime analytics provider—confirms the vessel's location within the Strait of Hormuz.

The tracking data aligns with reports that the ship’s destination is indeed India.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world's most sensitive maritime chokepoints, and this move marks a significant moment of defiance against the U.S. economic blockade on Iranian shipping and trade.
