A tragic aviation accident southwest of South Sudan's capital, Juba, has claimed the lives of all 14 people on board. The South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority (SSCAA) confirmed the incident occurred on Monday (April 27).

Incident Details
The aircraft, a Cessna 208 Caravan operated by Citylink, was en route from Yei to Juba International Airport when it lost contact with air traffic control.

Timeline: The flight took off at 9:15 AM and communication was severed at 9:43 AM.

Casualties: All 14 occupants—including the pilot and 13 passengers—perished in the crash.

Victim Nationalities
Among the deceased, authorities identified two Kenyans and 12 South Sudanese nationals.

Probable Cause
The SSCAA stated that preliminary reports suggest adverse weather conditions were a primary factor in the disaster.

Specifically, extremely low visibility is believed to have caused the pilot to lose control or navigate into terrain. An investigation is ongoing to confirm the technical details of the flight's final moments.
