The Embassy of Bangladesh in Beirut has issued an urgent directive for expatriates residing in several areas of southern Lebanon to relocate to safer shelters.

The advisory was released on Tuesday, May 12, following heightened security risks in the region.

The embassy specifically urged Bangladeshi nationals located in the rural areas of Nabatieh, Tyre (Sour), Bint Jbeil, Marjayoun, and Saida districts to move to secure locations immediately.

"Avoid installations that could potentially become targets for Israeli strikes," the embassy message stated.

"If your kafeel (sponsor), their family, or management personnel are no longer staying in your current location, you are requested to leave those areas and seek refuge in safer zones."

The directive comes in the wake of a tragic incident on Monday, May 11, where two Bangladeshi nationals were killed during an Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon.

The Government of Bangladesh has issued a formal statement strongly condemning the attack.
