Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has claimed that the United States is seeking to restart the war. The report was published on Wednesday (May 20) during a live broadcast by Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera.

Ghalibaf stated that Iranians should remain assured that their armed forces have utilized the ceasefire to rebuild and consolidate their strength.

According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, Ghalibaf noted that the enemy's overt and covert operations clearly indicate they are looking to launch a new round of warfare.

"If Iran is attacked again, we will make the enemy deeply regret it," Ghalibaf warned.

Tensions Strain Current Ceasefire
A ceasefire has been in place between Iran and the United States since April 8. However, despite the truce, multiple clashes have erupted between the two nations in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Additionally, a series of missile and drone strikes have targeted various Middle Eastern nations, particularly the United Arab Emirates.

While Iran faces blame for these provocations, US President Donald Trump commented that the ceasefire with Iran is currently on "massive life support."

Furthermore, in a social media post yesterday, Trump revealed that leaders from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates had requested him to hold off on military action.

Consequently, a fresh wave of strikes against Iran, originally scheduled to commence on Tuesday, was temporarily suspended.
