The Mehr News Agency, a semi-official news agency of Iran, has released a new video message featuring Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.

The video was published on Saturday (August 8) via the messaging app Telegram.

In the footage, Mojtaba Khamenei is seen surrounded by several individuals while conversing with them.

However, Mehr News did not specify when or where the video was recorded, nor did it disclose the identities of the people accompanying him.

On February 28, the United States and Israel jointly launched massive airstrikes across several Iranian cities, including Tehran.

That attack resulted in the deaths of Iran's then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, several top military commanders, and numerous civilians.

In response, Iran launched successive waves of missile and drone strikes targeting U.S. and Israeli military bases and installations across the Middle East.

Mojtaba Khamenei, 50, is the second son of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Following his father's death, the country's policy-making body, the Assembly of Experts, unanimously elected him as Iran's next Supreme Leader in early March.
