409 Eid congregations in capital

A total of 409 Eid congregations will be held in the capital under two city corporations.

Of those, 230 Eid congregations will be held under the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and the rest 179 Eid congregations held under the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC). Reports BSS.

The main Eid congregation will be held at the Jatiya Eidgah Maidan at 8.30 am. Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Senior Pesh Imam Hafez Muhammad Mizanur Rahman will lead the first Eid jamaat.

A total of five Eid congregations will be held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. The first jamaat will be held at 7am, the second at 8am, the third at 9am, the fourth at 10am and the last jamaat will be held at 10.45am.

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon visited the Jatiya Eidgah on Thursday afternoon.

“The National Eidgah is quite ready to hold the first Eid Jamaat,” said DSCC Executive Engineer Munshi M Abul Hashem, adding that the Jatiya Eidgah has been covered with the plastic clothes considering the inclement weather.

The President, ministers, the chief justice, member of parliaments and diplomats are expected to take part in the Eid Jamaat at the Jatiya Eidgah.

About the security arrangements, the DSCC Mayor said that three-tier security measures have been taken for ensuring the overall security of the people. Necessary instructions have already been given to the different intelligence forces including police.

The fire brigade has been deployed with the highest alert to face any fire incident in the capital.

In addition to this, a medical team has been kept alert at the national Eidgah for providing emergency health care services.

The Eid congregation also will be held at 8am at the south plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

The Chief Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad, Whips, member of the cabinet, lawmakers and employees of the parliament secretariat will take part in the Eid congregation along with the local people.

A total of two Eid congregations will be held at the Dhaka University central mosque -Masjidul Jamia. The first congregation will be held at 8am and the second one at 9am.

Besides, Eid congregations will be held at the field adjacent to Salimullah Muslim Hall at 8am and the ground adjacent of Shahidullah Hall main gate at 8am.

Eid congregation will be held at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) premises at 7.45am. But only one Eid congregation will be held at the BUET central mosque in case of inclement weather.

An Eid congregation will be held at Biswa Zaker Manjil and Banani Darbar Sharif at 10.30 am. Three Eid congregations will be held at Dewan Bagh Sharif at Arambagh-the first jamaat at 8am, the second at 9.30am and last one at 10am.

One of the biggest Eid congregations of the country will be held at Solakhia in Kishorganj. All necessary arrangements have been completed to hold the 191th Eid congregation at Solakhia. The first congregation will be held at 10am. Mawlana Farid Uddin Masud will lead the Eid congregation.

3G, 4G services resumed after 10 hours

Writ challenges EC’s decision on Jamaat leaders’ candidatures

A writ was filed with the High Court challenging the legitimacy of the Election Commission's decision that Jamaat-e-Islami leaders are not barred from participating in the December 30 general election. Barrister Tania Amir submitted the writ plea on Wednesday morning. A HC bench of Justice JBM Hasan and Justice Md Khairul Alam will hear the writ petition on Thursday, said the petitioner. MHK

JSC pass rate 83.65 pc, JDC 89.04 pc

The results of Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) Examinations-2018 were published on Monday. The pass rate in JSC exam is 83.65 percent while it is 89.04 percent in JDC exam. According to Education Ministry sources, this year, a total of 68,095 students secured GPA-5. As many as 26, 70,333 students from 29,677 educational institutions appeared in this year’s JSC and JDC examinations. Of them, 12, 23,732 are male and 14, 46,601 are female students. This year, the number of JSC students was 22, 67,343 and the number of JDC students is 4,02,990. Earlier in the morning, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and Primary and Mass Education Minister Advocate Mustafizur Rahman handed over the results to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the PM’s official Ganabhaban residence here. JSC and JDC examinations were held from November 1 to November 15 with participation of 25,99,169 examinees. The PEC and Ebtedayee examinations were held from November 18 to November 26. MHK

97.59 pc pass in PEC, 97.69 pc in Ebtadayee

The results of Primary Education Completion (PEC) and Ebtadayee examinations were published on Monday. The pass rate in PEC exam is 97.59 percent while the rate is 97.69 percent in Ebtadayee exam. A total of 3,68,193 PEC students got GPA 5 while the number of GPA 5 achievers in Ebtadayee exam is 12,224. Using the logo of Rtv and Rtv online these pages are spreading different types of fabricated information and news. In this regard the organization filed a General Diary (GD) with Tejgaon police station on Monday afternoon. GD number-1171. Date- 24/12/2018. It is mentioned in the GD, after opening fake facebook pages some miscreants are presenting fake information and news on different matters including parliament elections. This news is not published by Rtv. So there is fear of huge loss to the state. It is also mentioned in the GD, there are 14 facebook pages of Rtv and Rtv online including 7 verified pages.
