Hajj passengers’ registration time extended

The hajj passengers’ registration duration has been extended to April 1 from March 22.

The information came through an emergency notice of hajj passengers’ registration published on Bangladesh Hajj Management Portal of Religious Affairs Ministry on Thursday.

The notice signed by Assistant Secretary (Hajj) SM Moniruzzaman said, in the earlier notice issued on March 5 of the Religious Affairs Ministry, the last date was fixed on March 22 for the non-government hajj passengers’ registration. The date is finally extended to April 1.

It also said, after the date the registration will be completed from the next roll number according to the section 3.1.8 of the Hajj and Omrah Policy 2018. In this case no body from the earlier roll called pre-registered hajj passengers would get the chance for registration.

It was known that registration of 5 thousand 833 persons have been completed so far from 7 thousand 198 persons who are willing to perform hajj under government management. Of the 1 lakh 20 thousand non-government passengers registration was completed for 73 thousand persons. The time for registration has been extended as it was not completed.

This year total 1 lakh 27 thousand 198 persons are scheduled to perform hajj. The first hajj flight will begin on July 14.
