At least 103 dengue patients hospitalized: DGHS
As many as 103 dengue patients were hospitalised during the last 24 hours till this morning, according to a daily statement of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
103 dengue patients were admitted to the hospital, although no deaths reported in the last 24 hours. More than 4,000 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals this year.
This information was revealed in the Health Department's dengue report on Friday (June 10th) morning.
In the last 24 hours, 45 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka city and 58 outside Dhaka.
Besides, 63 people were infected with dengue on July 8, 88 on July 9 and 79 on July 10.
So far this year, 4,311 people have been hospitalised with dengue infection. In the meantime, 3,949 people have left the hospital after recovering. So far 47 people have died.
Although the two city corporations of Dhaka have taken various initiatives throughout the year, entomologist Dr. Manzur Chowdhury says that only jail-fines and public awareness will not work to kill mosquitoes. Proper measures should be taken with skilled manpower by conducting a proper survey.
In 2023, the country witnessed the highest number of dengue cases in the country's history was 3,21,179 and 1,705 people died.
