Thousands of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh leaders and activists have gathered at Dhaka's Suhrawardy Udyan for a grand rally, demanding the abolition of the Women's Reform Commission and pressing for four major demands.
The rally began at 9:00 am and is set to continue until 1:00 pm. Hefazat's top leadership, including Amir Allama Shah Muhibbullah Babunagari, is present, along with prominent Islamic scholars from across the country.
Heavy crowds have been reported at all entry points to the venue, with processions arriving from various parts of the capital, including Shahbagh, Motijheel, Nilkhet, Jatrabari, Kalabagan, Farmgate, and Mohammadpur. Attendees also stream in through Doel Chattar, TSC, and other nearby gates.
In addition to participants from Dhaka and Chattogram, people from districts nationwide have travelled by bus and truck to join the rally.
Hefazat-e-Islam's Four Demands:
- Cancel the Women's Reform Commission and its report.
- Restore complete trust and belief in Allah in the Constitution, replacing secular pluralism.
- Drop all charges against Hefazat leaders and activists, and ensure justice for all alleged killings, including the 2013 Shapla Chattar incident.
- The government must take a firm stance against the persecution of Muslims in Palestine and India.
