The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced an emergency press conference to be held today, Thursday (May 22), at 4:00 pm at the party chairperson's office in Gulshan, Dhaka. Senior leaders from the party's Standing Committee are expected to attend the briefing.
The announcement was made earlier this afternoon by BNP's media cell member, Shairul Kabir Khan.
According to party sources, the press conference will highlight BNP's official stance on pressing national and international developments. Over the past few days, the Standing Committee has held a series of meetings, and key decisions from those discussions will be disclosed.
A senior member of the committee is expected to deliver a written statement during the event.
Sources also indicate that BNP has been actively working to remove two student advisors currently affiliated with the government. Recent developments and confirmed information have led the party to oppose any form of student representation in the proposed election-time government.
BNP has already issued a formal demand for the removal of Khalilur Rahman, the National Security Advisor in the interim government. This call was reiterated today by Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed during a separate press briefing held at the party's central office in Nayapaltan.
