Azizul Bari Helal, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s (BNP) Central Information Affairs Secretary and candidate for the Khulna-4 constituency, has released a comprehensive 74-point election manifesto aimed at the rapid development of Rupsha, Terokhada and Dighalia.
The manifesto was formally unveiled on Saturday at his residence in Aichgati village, Rupsha.
At the heart of Helal’s platform is a major infrastructure promise: the construction of a second bridge over the Bhairab River to provide a direct link between Khulna city and the three upazilas.
He also pledged to fast-track the completion of the ongoing Nagarghat and Railgate bridge projects and committed to building sustainable embankments to protect local communities from the persistent erosion of the Ataie and Bhairab rivers.
In a bid to revitalize the local economy, Helal proposed converting abandoned jute godowns into hubs for small and cottage industries.
He also focused on agricultural recovery by vowing to improve drainage systems to reclaim waterlogged lands for cultivation.
Other significant local pledges include the nationalization of Alhaj Sarwar Khan Degree College, the modernization of the Hajigaon Mini Stadium, and the renovation of the Deura ferry terminal.
The manifesto further addresses security and cultural needs, proposing a new police outpost for high-risk areas in Terokhada and the official enlistment of the Kabi Krishnachandra Institute under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
Helal also promised to reopen the Star Jute Mill and ensure fair wages for all industrial workers.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by senior district BNP leaders, including Khan Rabiul Islam Rabi and Molla Khairul Islam, who expressed their support for the candidate’s vision for the region.
