Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami announced a protest rally in the capital today (Tuesday), citing concerns over "prevailing instability" and the current political situation in the country.
The demonstration, organized by the party’s Dhaka Metropolitan South unit, is scheduled to commence at 3 pm at the north gate of the National Mosque, Baitul Mukarram.
In a press statement, Abdus Sattar Suman, the Assistant Secretary for Publicity of Jamaat’s Dhaka Metropolitan South, confirmed that the program would feature both a protest procession and a formal rally.
The party stated that the move is a direct response to the recent socio-political developments and what it characterizes as a deteriorating state of stability across the nation.
The rally comes at a time of heightened political activity in Dhaka, following the recent 13th National Parliament Election and the swearing-in of newly elected lawmakers.
