The heroic Bangladesh U-20 national football team are set to receive a grand welcome as they return home on Saturday, fresh from their historic SAFF U-20 Championship victory in the Maldives.
The champions are expected to touch down at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 6:35 pm on this day.
Bangladesh clinched the coveted title on Friday night after a nerve-wracking final against arch-rivals India at the National Football Stadium in Male, Maldives.
After a hard-fought regulation time ended in a 0–0 draw, the match proceeded to a dramatic penalty shootout.
In the high-pressure tie-breaker, Bangladesh displayed superior composure, defeating India 4–3.
The victory was sealed when American expatriate Ronan Sullivan clinicaly converted the fifth and final spot-kick, sparking wild celebrations among the players and Bangladeshi fans across the globe.
This triumph marks a significant milestone for Bangladesh’s youth football, as the team returns with the trophy to a nation eager to celebrate its newest sporting icons.
