Bangladesh women’s hockey team suffered their second consecutive defeat in the 20th Asian Games women’s hockey event losing to Malaysia in their second pool A match held today (Monday) at Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium in Kakamigahara City, Japan.

After the barren first quarter, Bangladesh took the lead as Kona Akter scored in the 25th minute, but Malaysia staged a brilliant fight back in the third quarter scoring two goals in the 40th and 44th minutes and sealed the victory scoring the third goal in the 59th minute of the final quarter.

Bangladesh will play their remaining group matches against South Korea, Kazakhstan and Chinese Taipei on September 23, 25 and 27 respectively.

Earlier, Bangladesh suffered a massive 13-0 goal defeat to China in their opening group match.
