Launching an aggressive campaign from the opening whistle, Bangladesh broke the deadlock in the 10th minute when Irin Akter Riya converted a fine field goal.
Bangladesh successfully defended their 1-0 advantage through the end of the first half, maintaining momentum into the break.
Singapore intensified their offensive pressure during the second half, capitalizing on a crucial setback for Bangladesh in the 42nd minute when Lima Akter received a yellow card and was temporarily suspended, reducing the team to 10 players.
Taking swift advantage of their numerical superiority, Singapore restored parity in the 44th minute as Tou Li Min successfully converted a penalty corner.
With neither side able to break the deadlock in the final minutes of regulation, the contest moved into a penalty shootout.
Holding their nerve under high pressure, Bangladesh outperformed Singapore 2-1 in the shootout to clinch ninth position in the tournament.
