A relentless heatwave has gripped Chuadanga for several days, making life unbearable. The scorching sun and oppressive humidity have disrupted daily activities, with temperatures soaring both day and night. Laborers are forced to work under the blistering heat, enduring extreme conditions to earn a living.
On Friday (March 28) at 3 pm, Chuadanga recorded a maximum temperature of 39.8°C, with air humidity at 18%, marking the highest temperature of the season, according to the local weather office.
The intense heat offers no respite, whether indoors or outside. The sun's fiery rays have turned the ground into a heat-emitting surface, making the air feel even hotter. Gusts of wind carry waves of scorching heat, worsening the situation. Most residents are avoiding going outdoors unless necessary, while those who do find it increasingly difficult to cope. The heatwave has been especially tough on those observing Ramadan.
Rakibul Hasan, an observer at the Chuadanga Weather Observation Center, stated, "Today's highest recorded temperature was 39.8°C, the highest of the season so far. The temperature may rise further in the coming days."
