Storms accompanied by rain are likely in five divisions, while a heatwave continues to affect 12 districts nationwide.
According to the weather forecast on Monday (March 17) at 9 am for the next 72 hours, a low-pressure extension will extend over West Bengal and nearby areas, while the seasonal low-pressure system will remain over the South Bay of Bengal.
Under these conditions, scattered thunderstorms or rain with gusty winds and lightning may occur in some areas of Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, and Sylhet divisions from Monday morning to the next 24 hours. Some regions may also experience isolated hailstorms.
Temperatures across the country are expected to remain mostly unchanged during this period. However, a mild heatwave is currently affecting Dhaka, Faridpur, Manikganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Rangamati, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jashore, Chuadanga, and Patuakhali, and it may persist.
Additionally, from Tuesday 9 am onwards, scattered thunderstorms, rain, and gusty winds with lightning are expected in a few places across Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Some areas may also experience isolated hailstorms. While daytime temperatures will likely remain stable, nighttime temperatures may slightly drop.
