Mild Heatwave Sweeping 7 Districts, Temperatures Likely to Rise

A mild heatwave is currently affecting seven districts across the country and is expected to continue. Meanwhile, scattered rain and thunderstorms are likely in parts of four divisions, with temperatures expected to rise further during the day.

According to the weather forecast issued by the Meteorological Department on Saturday morning, light rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms may occur in isolated areas of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Elsewhere, skies will remain partly cloudy, and the overall weather is expected to stay mostly dry.

The districts currently experiencing a mild heatwave are Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Khulna, Bagerhat, Patuakhali, and Rangamati. The heatwave is likely to persist over these regions.

A trough of low pressure extends over West Bengal and nearby areas, while the seasonal low remains over the South Bay of Bengal.

The country's lowest temperature today was recorded at 17.8°C in Tetulia, while the highest temperature yesterday was 36.8°C in Mongla.
