Former Bangladesh Army Chief General (retd) Aziz Ahmed and his family members have been banned from entering the United States. The United States (US) has imposed sanctions on him for alleged involvement in corruption. But, ex-army chief Aziz Ahmed has claimed innocence against the US sanctions.

This information was given in a statement published on the website of the United States Department of State on Monday (May 20) night.

After the incident, the former army chief gave his reaction to a private TV channel in the country.

General (retd) Aziz said, 'I have not committed any crime that should be punished. If they have any evidence of the allegations they have made against me, give it to me.' At the time, he questioned whether there was any basis for the two reasons for which the United States imposed sanctions on him.

'If anyone can provide any proof that I allowed any contract to any of my brothers or any relative in BGB or the army during my four years tenure and three years as army chief, then I am ready to accept any consequence,' Aziz Ahmed added.
