Palak, Inu, Menon Sent to Jail After Remand

Workers Party of Bangladesh President Rashed Khan Menon, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JaSaD) President Hasanul Haq Inu, and former state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak have been sent to jail after remand.

The court passed this order when they appeared in court on Saturday (November 9) after seven days of remand. Earlier they were on remand in connection with the murder of a youth named Emon Hossain Gazi in the capital's Jatrabari area. Their remand started on November 2.

In view of the appeal of the police, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Awlad Hossain Muhammad Jonaid ordered to send them to jail.

Md Asaduzzaman, Sub-inspector of the general registration branch of Jatrabari police station confirmed this information.

A young man named Emon Hossain Gazi was shot dead in the capital's Jatrabari area during the anti-discrimination students movement on August 5. In this incident, his brother Anwar Hossain filed a case on August 28 with the names of 85 people including them at Jatrabari police station.

Menon was arrested from the city's Gulshan area on August 22 while Inu from Uttara on August 26 and Palak from Nikunja residential area under Khilkhet Police Station on August 14.
